A huge thank you to the class for working together as a team!
We have been practicing our 'Brain Bursts' and these require that we all work together as team to collect a point. The Occupational Therapist visited our room to teach us what to do. Ask your child to show you. Intense physical activity helps us to concentrate better, keeps us in shape and is just fun to do! They certainly helped us as we had to stay indoors through this cold week.
Also working as a team, we made enough of these cards to give to each class in the school. Our part in the Friendship Assembly showed what they are and how they will be used. Ask me more! Maybe you could try something similar in your own home!
We finished our research about Evelyn Glennie. Guided practice helped us to understand what sort of things go in a biography and how to research that information by writing jot notes. By using the jot notes to write our full sentences, we can be sure that we have used our own words. We learned that you cannot just copy someone else's words into your own book. Next week we will be working more independently to begin recording our own research notes about the county that we chose to study. We will begin by thinking what sort of information we think people would be interested in and what information we think they should know about. Encourage your child to do some more research about their country over the weekend. Ask them what they think they should be finding out about.
